Westfield approves pay raises for municipal and fire workers

NJ WESTFIELD — Westfield Town Council approves wage increases for municipal employees and firefighters retroactively. The Council unanimously adopted General Ordinance No. 2026-01, implementing 2.5 percent plus $250 annual increases through January 1, 2029 for Communication Workers of America Local 1040 employees, with full-time salary ranges from $41,000 to $99,500. General Ordinance No. 2026-02, also approved unanimously, establishes Fire Department salary schedules for Fireman's Mutual Benevolent Association Local #30 members effective through January 1, 2030, with Battalion Chief Grade 2 salaries of $154,247 without Emergency Medical Technician certification and $158,381 with EMT certification, and firefighter maximum salaries of $123,496 without and $127,362 with EMT.
