Historic Preservation Commission reorganizes; Jaruzelski elected Chair

NJ WESTFIELD — Historic Preservation Commission elects Jaruzelski chair, reviews variance projects. Jennifer Jaruzelski was unanimously elected Chair and Jacqueline Brevard Vice Chair; Maryellen McVeigh was appointed Secretary. The Commission reviewed three Board of Adjustment variance requests: it offered full support for additions at 29 Stoneleigh Park in the Stoneleigh Park historic district and at 546 Boulevard in the Boulevard Historic District, and conditional support for a porch and second-story addition at 849 Bradford Avenue in the Westfield Gardens Historic District, pending removal of proposed front dormers and substitution of gabled bump-outs with shed roofing.

The designation of 625 Westfield Avenue is scheduled for Town Council and Planning Board review in February and March.
