Council approves $1.742 million bond ordinances for Houlihan-Sid Fay Fields

NJ WESTFIELD — Westfield Town Council approves $1.742 million in bonds for athletic complex improvements. The Council unanimously approved on first reading two bond ordinances totaling $1.742 million for Houlihan-Sid Fay Fields: $862,000 for parking lot expansion, restroom construction, and a multipurpose facility, and $880,000 for synthetic turf field replacement. The project's estimated cost rose to approximately $3.1 million from the originally authorized $2.34 million due to revised engineering estimates and market conditions.
The Westfield Soccer Association and Westfield Lacrosse Club are contributing approximately $80,000 annually over four years toward debt service. The Council also unanimously awarded a crossing guard contract to All City Management Services for $514,624.00 for the period September 2026 through June 2027.
