NJ WESTFIELD — Westfield Historic Preservation Commission approves Dudley Avenue landmark addition. The Commission unanimously approved a Certificate of Appropriateness for alterations to the designated historic landmark at 218 Dudley Avenue West, with homeowner Karen Kowalenko and contractor Jay Taback of EKB Kitchens and Baths agreeing to design modifications including wood windows with simulated divided lites, centered garage carriage doors, three added east-elevation windows, and an appropriately scaled garage dormer. The Commission also reviewed demolition and alteration requests for three other properties, recommending sustainable renovation for an 1890s home at 722 Rahway Avenue rather than demolition.
