Preservation Commission acts on three demolition requests

NJ WESTFIELD — Westfield Historic Preservation Commission secures historic shed preservation at March meeting. The Commission addressed three demolition requests at 231 Elizabeth Avenue, 401 Lenox Avenue, and 527 Hillcrest. Historic Preservation Officer Barton Ross determined the shed at 231 Elizabeth Avenue, formerly used as an icehouse, held historical significance eligible for designation, and the owners agreed to preserve it.

The Commission also unanimously approved its January 26 minutes and cleared demolition of garages at two other properties.
