NJ WESTFIELD — Historic Preservation Commission unanimously designates first Terrace Park home as landmark. The Commission voted unanimously on August 24 to designate 625 Lenox Avenue as a historic landmark, the first such designation in the Terrace Park neighborhood. Homeowners Ken Mirsky and Andrea Silkowitz pursued the designation to ensure preservation and prevent future development of a half lot.
Historic Preservation Officer Barton Ross determined the c.1910 plan book home met criteria through its association with Edward S.F. Randolph, a significant figure in Westfield's development. The Commission also tabled an informal demolition review for 122 Eaglecroft Road pending research on whether the 1917 plan book home qualifies for designation.
