Board of Adjustment · Meeting of September 14, 2026
NJ WESTFIELD — Westfield Board of Adjustment approved five residential variance applications, four unanimously and one by narrow vote. The board voted 4-3 to approve Lorenzina Ciccia's request to forgo off-street parking at 552 Downer Street, with opponents arguing she had originally proposed the driveway in approved plans and should have followed through. Four homeowners at 126 Hyslip Avenue, 1300 Overhill Street, 244 Sylvania Place, and 520 Hort Street received unanimous approval for home additions and garage modifications.
Ciccia testified the narrow lot would be diminished by a parked vehicle, and planning consultant Matthew Wellinger noted the property has never had parking since 1964.
